DIMITAR KONDOVSKI part 2

DIMITAR KONDOVSKI is one of the few Macedonian fine artists whose work left an indelible, deep and lasting mark in time. His exceptional creative oeuvre is a cornerstone on which contemporary Macedonian fine art is built and expanded.
Kondovski was born in Prilep in 1927 and died in Skopje in 1993. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1952. In 1958 he was on a study stay in Paris, and during 1961/62 he specialized in wall painting in Rome. From 1952 to 1956, he worked as a professor of art education in Skopje. From 1956 to 1960 he worked as an illustrator. From 1960 to 1972 he was a freelance artist. From 1972 to 1980 he was a professor at the Pedagogical Academy in Skopje. In 1980, he was elected a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, where he worked until 1987. In 1991, he was elected a member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
He is the winner of the Award of the Republic of Macedonia on October 11, 1964, for painting, the Award of November 13, of the City of Skopje, in 1970, the Prix National Award for painting, at the International Art Festival in Cannes sur Mer, in 1974, in France, The Kliment Ohridski Award, in 1987, as well as many other awards and recognitions.
