PARTICIPATION AND SUCCESS OF THE STUDENTS FROM MACEDONIA IN THE GLOBAL ROUND OF THE WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP 2021 IN DUBAI, UAE
The World Scholar’s Cup – WSC is an international team academic program for students from more than 65 countries. The purpose of this competition is to encourage the students to study outside the typical curriculum and to provide students from different cultures to discuss issues and ideas related to today. It is a competition held in fun and inspiring atmosphere and it is an excellent opportunity for the students to develop their skills for critical thinking in relation to this years’ topic – A World Renewed.
The team compete in four main events – individual test for general knowledge, writing in teams, debating in teams and quiz in teams. Besides the four main events, non-competing social and academic activities take place in order to achieve friendly atmosphere among the students.
The Macedonian delegation for this prestige competition was consisted of 10 students from the PSS (Private Secondary School) “Yahya Kemal”, 3 students from MES (Municipal Elementary School) “J. H. Pestaloci” – Skopje and two students from a local school in Dubai, which were in competition with 23 countries, and defend the state colours on the World Cup.
On the 15th December 2021, within the World Scholar’s Cup – WSC, a cultures fair was organized, where our delegation successfully presented the opportunities of Republic of Macedonia.
We express gratitude to the leader of the Macedonian delegation, Mr. Nikola Gelincheski, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the support, to our Embassy in UAE for the support and the assistance, the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism in the Republic of North Macedonia for the support with promotional materials, to the company Heraklea for the support with traditional food products.
